Groove V3 beta refresh programme
Hugh Pyle : We're running a regular Beta refresh programme for V3, which is fun: there's at least one daily build, sometimes more, and every week or so one of the dailies is pulled out for beta distribution. So if you're upgrading regularly, you pretty much see things as they happen. Then, suddenly, one day it'll all be done, and we'll throw a party.
Presidential Groovespace ?
Wired features an interview with the (in)famous John Pointdexter (Iran-Contra, TIA, etc). At the end of the interview Groove is mentioned briefly:
The technologies you used include Groove Networks' very trendy collaborative software. You don't collaborate because it's faddish - you do it because there's always ambiguity in the data and you need diverse viewpoints to try to decide what it all really means. For instance, Iraqi WMD ?
That's a perfect example. There were obviously different perspectives, but did they find their way to the decisionmaker? And in such a way that he could understand what the different interpretations were and how they were arrived at? I don't think that happened. So, a Groove space for the president ?
At some point, a US president will be in a Groove space or something comparable, sure. Maybe not this next time, but four or eight years from now we'll elect someone who grew up on the Internet and is more willing to sit at a keyboard and do things on his own.

New RSS Reader for Groove
Tim has created a very cool RSS reader for Groove. The tool can handle all major formats like RSS, RDF and Atom feeds and can easily export posts to a Groove discussion tool. Although not thoroughly tested yet, it seems to work fine and we are already using extensively in a number of different Groovespaces.
If you want to take it for a spin, use the inject file that you can find here (install at your own risk!)
I think it's a nice addition to our current Blogtool and our Groove Wiki.

Groove : The peaceful force
Robin Good interviews Sanjana Hattotuwa of Info-Share in a worthreading article about the way Groove is positioned as a tool to support peace processes and how it is used in the Sri Lankan conflict resolution process in particular.
Robin Good: If you were to add one feature to Groove what would it be?Sanjana Hattotuwa: The ability to search for information within workspaces (within and between) - it is hard to believe that Groove has not implemented this feature already.

Groove turns to VARs
CRN : Groove Turns To VARs For SMB Push With Release 3
Groove's own small direct-sales force has focused on enterprise and some SMB accounts in this country. The plan going forward is that any sale coming in either through a partner or through inside sales will be revenue-neutral. Groove's internal salespeople will make the same money whether the sale goes direct or not," Sansonetti said.

We're currently working on a english version of the website that will also contain more information about the way these tools could integrated with Groove 3.0 to support (realtime) collaborative planning processes.
