This tool enables a connection between Radio Userland and Groove 2.5 using Groove Web Services. You can synchronize your Radio-Weblog with a Groove Discussion Tool, send incoming news-stories to a Groove Discussion Tool and retrieve files from a Groove Files Tool and publish them to the web through Radio Userland.

Jon Udell : Until now, team blogging has meant that a group posts to a common weblog. This setup does that too, but it also does something I find much more powerful -- it synchronizes the inputs to the collaborative process, as well as the output.

Paresh Suthar : There have been many references to Tim Knip's Interop tool - a very cool application that uses Web Services to push/pull data to/from Groove to publish blog entries. The more I thought about this, the more I started to see what could be a paradigm shift with respect to content creation and publication. Tim demonstrates how to take a personal activity like blogging and shift it into a group activity so that multiple people can contribute.

I N S T A L L A T I O N

- Shutdown Radio Userland.
- Download the grooveInterop.root file (~ 900 kb), and drop it in your Radio Userland tools directory.
- Start Radio Userland.
- Add two (2) Discussion Tools and one (1) Files Tool to a Groove space (the tools you will use in setup). If you want to use an existing Discussion Tool, then make sure the Discussion is empty before running setup (otherwise existing entries in the Discussion Tool will be sent to your Radio weblog, which yields unexpected results...).
- Finally setup the grooveInterop tool using this link

Add this macro to your post to list upstreamed files from a Groove Files Tool:

R E M A R K S

Large files (>1 Mb) retrieved from a Groove Files Tool will not be upstreamed, because Radio Userland has a limit on the number of bytes that may be upstreamed to the cloud.
